Children's fishing poles recalled by Zebco due to violation of lead in paint standard

W.C. Bradley/Zebco Holdings Inc. in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled 2,700 children's fishing poles made in China because the paint found on the reels of this product contained a high level of lead violating the federal lead paint standard.
 
Zebco Advanced Youth Fishing Rod and Reel combo sets that are painted orange and have the words "Zebco" and "ZAVS 10" on the reel handle are the ones being recalled.  Only the spinning reels are involved in this recall.
 
No one has reported any injuries due from these fishing poles but the paint on the reels contains excessive levels of lead.
 
What to do: Consumers should immediately take the fishing poles from children and contact Zebco for information on receiving a receiving a refund. Contact Zebco at (800) 588-9030 or visit the firm’s Web site at www.zebco.com
