I bought the pearl sheen nail enhancer at Duane Reade because it was on sale, and I thought well I guess I could give it a try. My nails would always be brittle, chip, and break instantly as soon as they started to grow. I started using the product and immediately I could see my nails getting better. So far my nails aren't brittle, break, or chip. My nails always look polished and neat. I don't have time or money for constantly getting manicures so this is a great alternative for my nails. I wold recommend this product to everyone!!!
I love this stuff, and use one thin coat daily. If you put too much on or two coats, it will peel. Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 bottles I have the brush applicator tip broke off. It is now stuck in the lid and I can't use it.
I enjoy all of Neutrogena's products (particularly their lip moisturizer) and the nail enhancer is a winner. I do a professional-caliber pedicure/manicure every Sunday. The prep (polish remover, push back cuticles, repair any damages, etc.) then the base coat, two coats of color, rop coat, wait an hour for everything to dry. No more. I do the prep, brush the liquid on, and that is that. I put a coat on toenails and fingernails every day. My first experience with this product was buying the buff sheen for my boyfriend. His nails look natural and immaculate. My nails don't have the glamorous impact that they had with conventional polishes, but they look well-cared for and attractive and I enjoy the time that I save.
My review at drugstore.com for this prod. in "Buffed Sheen 01" (prod.is cheaper @ amazon): 5 STARS--THIS WORKS on peeling, ridged, snaggy, weak, papery nails, mine 50+ years. A REAL fix for bad nails. If your nail issues are mine, buy this NOW. Big picture is that it fills ridges, rebuilds nails, even ones that never grow. Does not show, is very subtle. Not just-cover-up-a-problem product. NEVER has to be removed, slowly fades off, no peel like old nail polish (I use Buffed Sheen 01). Quick, easy use at bedtime, before driving, workouts, reading or watching TV-soaks in fast). I have no problem with the brush, some reviewers have fixes for this. Petite container, prod. goes long way. Is truly worth the price. My nails are now NORMAL + NICE, fast, & I no longer HAVE to use peely nail polish, do not have to use gloves for dishes or garden (still apply tiny amount Nailtiques oil on cuticles at night). Before this product, had expensive acrylics to cover my nails. Spent $$$. Am SO grateful it's here now.
Its easy to use (I put it on daily at my office), doesnt smell, dries instantly, and actually works. I have been using the clear version, 5x week for almost 3 weeks & my nails definately look their best. I noticed that sometimes it seems to peel off when i put too much on. Otherwise its not really a layer but more like a lotion (it goes on & soaks in). I dont polish often because of time/ effort, but I like to keep it shiny & this product really helps.
