yes, it is oil-free... someone missed out on their chemistry classes

This product has gotten some bad reviews recently for wrong reasons -- apparently because it was not oil-free as claimed on the package. However, if you look at the ingredient list there's no oil listed. There is however aloe leaf juice and two kinds of silicone, which some people might have mistaken by oil, as it gives shine and softness. So no, there is no oil in this product. I found this Neutrogena make-up remover an excellent, low-cost alternative to the big-name brands in the department stores. It removes even water-proof make-up effectively and quickly, basically with one swipe of a cotton ball. I highly recommend it.

Not the worst ever but close

Oil-free? No. Good at removing eye makeup? No. Non-irritating? No. I don't wear heavy eye-makeup - no waterproof mascara or heavy black eyeliner - and this product couldn't get off what I wear. Like another reviewer wrote, I have to wash the junk off after I use it. It also doesn't matter how much of the product you use; it still doesn't get the makeup off. It's a total waste of money to purchase this product in my opinion.

    Good for the price

I have tried other, more expensive makeup removers, such as MAC pads and lancome. This one works great for the price. It does leave a very slight greasy feel, but I always take off eye makeup before I wash the rest of my face anyways, so it doesn't even really matter.

    Horrible product!!!

I came here to review this and seeing that it has a review with 5-stars, I am even more resolved to review. I bought this a few months ago and was excited for a cheaper alternative to my Clinique remover. I also liked that it said "oil free" and looked nice and clear. I immediately noticed that the directions say to shake the product, which when looking more closely at the contents, seem to reveal that there IS an oily part and that's why you must shake! I couldn't BELIEVE that when I opened it to use it, it was the OILIEST thing I have ever seen in cosmetics. It was like smearing canola oil on your face. Did it remove make-up? Yeah it probably did but it left such a residue that I had to literally get out the soap and water to wash it off. HOWEVER what made this product "horrible" in my opinion, is the fact that it GAVE ME MILIA. Milia is essentially an oil-filled little white small pimple-looking thing that you get from using oily products! At first I didn't know what caused it, but upon researching it, it was obvious that it was this oily remover that I had just started using. I am very disappointed in Neutrogena - their products were always so good when I was growing up. I would avoid this at ALL COSTS. Pay more for something else.

    Excellent Eye Make-up Remover

This is the perfect eye make-up remover. You have to shake it before you use it to mix the oily part with the watery part. It mixes fast and you just need to use a little to remove your make-up. It works just as good for removing my waterproof mascara too. This is comparable to Lancome and Clinique's eye make-up remover but at half the price. Some eye make-up removers irritate my eyes and make them burn this product does not. It also does not leave a greasy residue after you use it either. I highly recommend this product. I own this product and will continue using it.
