Cane Juice Guide

India grows large quantities of sugar cane; the sugar industry is its major consumer. It is also widely enjoyed as a beverage[citation needed]. Vendors crush sugar cane by the roadside and sell the freshly squeezed juice. Small pieces of ginger, mint and lemon are crushed with the sugar cane to add flavor to the juice. Some people prefer to consume the juice by chewing the cane[citation needed]. Sales go up during festive occasions[citation needed].
