This position is for an ambitious, talented designer who wants to craft a beautiful, world-changing product. This is the problem GoodGuide is focused on solving. GoodGuide\u2019s mission is to make it easy for consumers to buy products that are consistent with their ideals and consequently influence companies to be more responsible. Towards this end, GoodGuide has developed an extensive product catalog, authoritative science-based ratings, a mobile app, and now we are rapidly iterating on social networking functionality for users to exchange knowledge about products and companies.

This is the role of a leader and a hands-on practitioner. The job will be bursting with fascinating design problems and the potential to transform society. You will be THE designer at GoodGuide so you’ll have freedom to tackle the problems as you see fit.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Loves creating intuitive visualizations of complex information
- Knows how to create an aesthetic that resonates with the target audience
- A passion for information architecture and creating organized page layouts
- Skilled at creating design patterns that can be easily reused to facilitate rapid iterations
- Comfortable leader
- Experience designing for both mobile and the web
- Experience designing in fast-paced start up environment
- Experience designing social media tools
- Team player and clear communicator
- Passion for bringing positive change to the world
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent the design vision to the management team
- Define the overall aesthetic, layouts, interactions and design patterns for GoodGuide’s web site and mobile app
- Work closely with product management and engineering to rapidly iterate on the site experience. You’ll have to deliver frequently and fast
- Deliver pixel-perfect mockups with the information that developers need to implement
- User research & testing
- Relentlessly optimize the user experience
